An Arrogant Bird

In the afternoon, the sun shone so brightly. On one of the treetops, there were three bird’s eggs in the bird’s nest. The mother bird was looking for the straw to strengthen her nest. Not for a long time, the eggs hatched. One by one the small baby bird was seen. They were so cute. The mother bird arrived at the nest and gave all baby birds a warm hug.

After that, she gave a name for each baby bird. She looked at the first baby. “Because of your cuteness, your name is Kitty.” To the second baby she said. “Your name is Tally because you’re the tallest. And my last baby, your name is Smalling because you’re the smallest.”

One day, the mother bird taught all baby birds how to fly. “Okay, my babies, now I want to teach you how to fly in the air. Are you ready? First of all you must spread your wings widely. Then, move your wings up and down and feel the wind. After that, jump and taarrraaaaa you’re flying now.” Kitty, Tally and Smalling tried as their mother said. And Tally was the first baby which could fly.

After that moment, the mother bird realized that Tally was the smartest birds.

Time passed by, they were one year old now. And today was their birthday. The mother bird brought the cake with three candles on it. “Happy birthday my small babies, but now, you’re not small babies again, you’ve grown so fast.” said the mother bird. “Thanks Mom, I love you so much.” said Kitty. Then, Kitty, Tally, and Smalling made a wish before they blew the candles. “Okay, let’s blow it out!” said Tally. “Let’s go!” shouted Smalling. Hufffffhhhhh. They blew it too strong, so the mother bird’s face was full with cream from the cake. They laughed together and seem so happy.

Afterthe celebration, Kitty, Tally, and Smalling were bored. “Hey, let’s make a race. The first who can reach the tip of that tree is the winner,” challenged Smalling. “Okay. I’m not scared.” said Kitty. “Let’s count down and I’ll be the winner.” said Tally. She was very confident about this race. The mother bird only could see who the winner was. “Okay. Mom, can you help us to count down?” said Smalling. “You’ll get it. One… Two… Three…!” Whuzzzz whuzzz whuzzzz. They flew with a burning passion.

Kitty led the race and followed by Tally and Smalling was the last. “I’ll win this race.” said Kitty. “Dream on.” said Tally. Tally passed Kitty and reached the tip of the tree first. Yeahh, she won the race! “How great Tally!” said Kitty. “You’re so fast. I don’t have any chance to pass you.” said Smalling. “Thanks guys.” answered Tally. “You’re all good, my babies. I’m proud of you.” said the mother bird.

Those birds repeated the race every day. However, the result never changed. Tally felt bored because no one could beat her.

One day, the mother bird got sick. She called all her child. “I think I’ll die soon. So, listen carefully my message. Kitty, you’re the oldest, please keep your brother and sister. Tally, you’re the cleverest, please don’t be arrogant with your brother and your sister. And Smalling, you’re the youngest, advise your brother and sister if they make some mistakes. That’s all my message. I hope you can obey my message.” said the mother bird. After that, she died. “MOOOMMM” shouted the birds. The birds felt so sad.

The following week, they weren’t sad anymore. They performed their daily routines. Yeah, race. Tally was getting more bored and made her sure that she had to leave her brother and sister and went to the better place, which had the better birds. “I’ll go. Don’t try to stop me.” said Tally. “Please, don’t go. Don’t you remember what our Mom says? We must be together until the end.” said Smalling. “But I’m not happy here. “shouted Tally. Kitty and Smalling were shocked and speechless. Tally flew away, leaving her brother and sister.

Tally flew aimlessly.

In the middle of her journey, the storm came. She fought the storm desperately. Nevertheless, she failed. Her left wing was hit by a lightning. Then, she fell down to the forest. “Will I die? I think yes. Mom, if you hear me. I want to say sorry because I don’t obey your message. I’m not the cleverest. I’m the dumbest bird ever. I hope you accept my apology. And for my sister and brother, I’m so sorry because I don’t listen what you say.” cried Tally. After she said that, she closed her eyes.

“Tally wake up. Tally wake up. Tally. This is us, Kitty and Smalling.” said Kitty. Tally opened her eyes and she saw Kitty and Smalling. “How can you find me? And why do you save me? I’m the one that has left you.” cried Tally. “Sssttt, we are family yesterday, today, and tomorrow until the end.” said Smalling. Tally cried and hug her sister and brother. Then, they took Tally home and lived happily ever after.
